Data Collection
Audiary does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data to external servers.
Data Storage
All your data is stored locally on your device or on your personal Audiobookshelf server:
- Preferences and settings - Stored locally on your device
- Listening statistics - Stored locally on your device
- Library data - Synced with your personal Audiobookshelf server
- Wishlist - Stored in Apple Reminders (your iCloud account)
- iCloud sync - Optional sync of preferences via your iCloud account
- Apple Watch playback state - Synchronized between iPhone and Apple Watch, no separate data collection on watchOS
Podcasts Data
Podcast-related information is stored locally on your device:
- RSS feed subscriptions - Stored locally on your device
- Episode downloads - Stored locally on your device
- Listening progress - Synced with your device only
Data Export
You have control over your data:
- Export listening statistics in CSV format
- Exported data contains only locally stored information
- No automatic data transmission to external services
Third-Party Services
Audiary connects only to:
- Your personal Audiobookshelf server (user-provided URL)
- Librivox.org (free audiobooks catalog)
- Open Library API (book search and metadata)
- iTunes Search API (book covers and metadata)
- Apple iCloud (preferences sync and Reminders)
- Podcast RSS feeds (user-subscribed feeds)
No data is shared with advertising networks, analytics services, or other third parties.
Children's Privacy
Audiary does not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
